The Carving of a Pumpkin

This week we've been learning about the letter J, so making a Jack-o-lantern was the perfect activity! We picked out the perfect pumpkin during our Saturday outing to Right Choices Pumpkin Patch. Aiden loved the pumpkin shovel and was ready to get to work when we got home.My friend Tracie mentioned that Hobby Lobby had Elmo templates for pumpkin carving. Monty decided it would be easier to just make our own. Perfect for our Elmo loving boy!Aiden didn't know quite what to think of the pumpkin guts.So of course, tasting them seemed like the right thing to do. I think he actually liked it!Then was just ready to play with the pumpkin while Monty and I cleaned it out.He thought he was big stuff because he got to sit on the table and play. He had such a great time!He decided to go get his own shovel and help scoop out the inside. While Monty was carving the face, Aiden picked up all the scraps and threw them in the trash. Right now he is obsessed with throwing anything in the garbage. I am constantly finding spoons, toys, and cups in the kitchen trash can!Check out his hand! FILTHY!!! This shows me how much fun he had!Monty got Elmo all carved out and Aiden was so proud of it!! I was really impressed with how it turned out! After dinner and a much needed bath, we lit Elmo and let Aiden go outside and see it. He loved it!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Look How He's Grown

We are making an annual tradition to go to the Right Choices Pumpkin Patch. Here's Aiden and his sweet friend Addyson last year. Fast forward one year and look how BIG he is! Definitely not a baby anymore!
He's still my baby though!

CampQuest

We had a blast camping in Branson with our church family last weekend. The weather was perfect for tent sleeping at night and playing outside during the day. I packed the car Thursday and then when Monty got off work at lunch on Friday, we headed out. We got the tent set up and were ready to eat dinner before it got dark. This year we camped in an electric site which was nice, but it wsa really close to the road. I thought the cars going by at night might keep Aiden up, but he slept like a log!

Love the smile on his face! Being outside is his favorite place to be. He did sooooo good all weekend! Monty cooking our favorite camp dinner - fried potatoes and sausage!
Saturday morning we woke up to the sound of screeching tires as a car came down a hill, crossed traffic, and went off the road and into the ditch across the street from our tent. The people were okay, but they had to get someone to come tow them out of the ditch. I'm thinking next time we may try and get a site not so close to the road!

The playground at the campsite was perfect for little ones. Aiden really loved hanging out with the other kids and climbing all over the place.Saturday I went shopping with a friend while the guys took the kids to the fish hatchery and dam. Monty said Aiden loved watching the fish. They met us for lunch and then they went back to campsite for naptime. Aiden was worn out after a morning of playing hard.

Saturday night we roasted marshmallows for smores before the evening devo. Aiden was so interested in the fire and kept saying, "Hot! Hot!". He knew better than to get too close.
Sunday after church we packed up camp and headed home. Aiden was so tired that he kept laughing to himself until he fell asleep. It was too funny! We are looking forward camping again in about 2 weeks.
